The Prayer

Friday, February 4th, 2011

Guitarist Robby LeBlanc here...
I was recently asked to perform at the Spiritual Life Center of Greater Las Vegas. When I do perform there, they usually ask me to perform 2 songs.

One of my song selections was a song called "The Prayer". The song has a very special memory for me. The first time I performed this song, was a week after the passing of Las Vegas entertainer, Danny Gans. I dedicated this song to him.

I think it is one of the most beautiful melodies ever written. I created this video montage using the music from that performance.

Most of the photos used in this video were taken by me or Vickie. They include photos from our various spiritual advetnures. From the Taj Mahal, Ganges River, Himalya Mountains, Gandi Museum, Holimen, Viet Namm, Services with Buddhist Monk Ken Rippoche, people praying, sunsets, freinds, people celebrating...ect.

No doubt, we are experiencing extremely challenging times....

My prayer for you is, that "The Prayer" inspires that thing inside of you to do and be your best. To overcome whatever challenges you may be having at this time, be it financial, work, relationships or addictions...

When in doubt say a kind word.
When in doubt volunteer.
When in doubt perform a random act of kindness.

On this performance and recording I used a Godin Guitar Sythnesizer with a Roland VG-99. It produced a very unique sound.  The Spiritual Life Center has an awesome band headed up by Justin Vogel on Bass, Melvin Macias on Piano and Tony DeAugustine on drums.

I Opened For “Cheap Trick” Last Night!

Friday, March 13th, 2009

I got a phone call Thursday afternoon at about 3pm from a person that
books me from time to time.  She asked, "Robby I know this is really short
notice but are you available to play tonight from 7pm to 8pm? I said yes.

I didn't ask what it paid I just asked where. Then she said, you're going to
open for the rock group "Cheap Trick".  I said great! She said I'd have to break
out what Rock/Funky music I had.

So I played some Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, EWF, Sting, and ended with
Led Zeppelin's Stairway To Heaven. It was a blast!

Apparently they had some other act that was scheduled to play but the
management wanted a guitarist. I go the call. Have you ever heard the
saying: "Luck is When Preparation Meets Opportunity".

I got lucky because I was preparred! Thank God!
Anyway just wanted to share that news. In the midst of these
economic times it is still possible to have fun and get lucky!

Please post your comments on the blog.

Have a Great Day,

Need Some Inspiration?

Monday, August 11th, 2008

Are you in need of some Motivation and Inspiration?

Have you been watching the Olympic Games?
If not, you are missing some great stuff.

Think about it, once every 4 years the best of the best in
the world of sports get together to compete.

Some of these athletes have been training for 10-15-20
years to compete in an event that could last less than
60 seconds!

Can you imagine that?
Training most of your adult life to participate in an
event that last less than 60 seconds!

Every athlete competing had to overcome many obsticles
just to get the honor and opportunity to compete in Beijing.

It's a long road just getting to the Olympic Games and then
additional obsticles once you have arrived here.

The opening ceremony was breath taking!

The open Ceremony had 7ft.6 inch basketball player Yao Ming
from China walked in with this small 9 year old boy from China...

Talk about inspiring...

Turns out this little boy was in the earth quake a few months
ago. Most of his fellow classmates had died during the quake.
After he clawed his way out of the rubble he went back to
pull out 2 of his fellow classmates.

A reporter asked the little boy why he went back into the
rubble? And he replied, "I'm a hall monitor at my school
and that's my job, to help and protect the other classmates."

Wow!
Is that inspiring or what!

Now as far as the games, it has been totally thrilling.

How about that Michael Phelps???

He won his first Gold for these games on Saturday...
Then last night, (Sunday) he was in the 4 man relay...

This was one of the most exciting things I had ever seen.
Vickie and I could'nt take our eyes off the TV screen.

The announcer was saying all night that France was going to win
and that the Americans really didn't have a chance.

Surprise!
The USA won by .02 of a second!

Whatever country you are from, we love watching excellence at
this level. These people are the best of the best.

So during the course of your week, if you need a little
inspiration, turn on the TV and watch the Olympics!

Have a Great Day,
Robby LeBlanc
