Republicans and Democrats
Are You Voting Republican or Democrat?
As far back as I can remember my family was
always Republican. (My Mother & Father)
And as far back as I can remember I’d argue with my
parents about how our government messes things up…
Well I finally voted in the 2000 Election and I admit
I voted for Bush. At the time, I really thought he
was going to look out for the people…
Well, as you can see the past 8 years with President
Bush in office have been a total disaster! Heck, even
John McCain only mentioned Bush one time in his speech
the other night during the Republican Convention.
So much for being proud of your president and all the
wonderful things he has done…
With that in mind, does that means I’m voting for Obama?
Hmmm…
As I started writing this post for my blog, my dad
is at the Republican convention having the time of
his life. He loves the republicans and the whole
party. He loves the politics, the energy, the
interaction with friends from all over the country.
(My Step Mom got ill so she couldn’t attend the
convention. Please say a short prayer for her)
Yes, the republicans are lucky to have such a loyal
man on the team…I love that my dad is having so
much fun!
He’d call me after each republicans speech and we’d
debate about it for a few minutes and he’d go back to
the convention…
Well both party’s had conventions…
My father called me on Saturday after the RNC and said
so are you voting for John McCain yet?
I told my dad, I don’t think it really matters much
who actaully wins. My dad couldn’t believe I said that.
I told my dad…
1. For over 30 years I have been hearing both party’s
say that the Tax code was way to complicated and needed
to be simplified, over-hauled or eliminated.
Bottom line – It has just gotten more complicated.
They know it should be changed, but it will never happen.
Actually Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee were the only ones
talking about changing it.
2. For years both party’s have said they needed to
do something about our health care system.
Bottom Line – Nothing has changed – It has gotten worse.
More people are without health care than ever before.
3. For years both party’s have said teachers needed
to be paid more.
Bottom Line – Teachers Pay is still sub par.
4. Since the Nixon administration, (1973) both party’s
have known that the USA has needed to become less
dependent on forign oil…
Bottom Line – We are more dependent now and in worse
position and paying record high prices for gas which
is effecting the entire American economy.
Now both party’s are touting we need to do something.
It’s a little late, don’t cha think?
And now both party’s are saying they are the party
of Change! Really?
In any case…
These are just a few things that came to mind…
My problem is, I still want to beleive that there
are some politicians out there that really want to
help the people.
What do you think?
Republican or Democrat?
I look forward to any of your comments.
Have a Great Day!

hi rob,
leaning towards mccain in a big way. it is mainly due to his lack of experience in foreign policy. with all going on in the world these days we need a tough guy who has gone through and understands the options.

Obama is an exciting and engaging scripted speaker. He has the ability to draw crowds of people who are looking for the opportunity of ‘HOPE’ and their financial support. Does that qualify him for the White House? The media likes him, we need get behind the Republicans!!!!!!!!!!!

OBAMA all the way….we can’t afford 4 more years of the same shit. This country is 3/4 of the way in the shitter due to the republican’s messes and big businesses controlling the whitehouse… Our healthcare is in shambles, our Armies are basically shot to shit, our economy is in the shitter, and all they want to do is spend a LOT of money and cut taxes… Where does the money come from then????? The top 0.5% of the richest people in this country make more than the other 99.5% together – yet we want to cut their taxes and create more loopholes so that out tax dollars get either refunded to companies leaving this country in droves? Hell they even get credits for it! Total Bullshit. If I have to pay my taxes, why shouldn’t they? They want to call themselves single entities, yet want protections that you or I do not get? You can’t have it both ways….
Drilling isn’t the answer.
Creationism isn’t the answer…
Faith based initiatives are not the answer.
Shitting on our constitution isn’t the answer.
Education is.
Energy independance is.
Manufacturing is.
Following the law is…. (If you have to invent or distort the law to make something seem legal, well…guess what?…it probably isn’t legal. DON’T DO IT!
Baagh!

Hi Robby,
Like you I was raised Republican, however I have never found a candidate I liked that made it to the nomination. So, rather than cast a vote outside of the two party lines, I don’t vote. With the current race, it is coming close to making me actually register but I doubt it.
I know some will poo poo my choice of not voting however I view inaction as action in this case. I have watched many of the debates leading up to where we are now. The best thing for my humor therapy has been the addition of Gov. Palin. Just thinking about the Saturday Night Live skits makes me laugh.
As far as McCain, I have to agree with former Minn. Gov. Jesse Ventura. even though I served in the military, I am not going to vote for McCain based on his patriotic military service, and to think Palin is a heartbeat away from the presidency freaks me out to no end. With McCain’s health condition, you need to plan for the worse.
I believe McCain actually wants Obama to win and that is why he picked Palin, to set himself up for failure. Maybe because of his Maverick tendencies, he set the republicans up to get the nomination in order to loose and give the coutry back to the democrats. A fiendish plan, but possible.
First thing to remember is the election is not won by popular vote.
Second thing to remember is if you can’t choose a good president, at least vote wisely when choosing your Senate and House.
We are in for a very rough ride coming into the next year, and neither candidate is a solution to our mess.
I used to have land 6 miles from the Canadian border for times like these, but no I’ll just have to head to Costa Rica if it gets too bad.
