Our Vickie was picked up by our Heavens Angles at 2:12am this morning. The nurses gave her what turned out to be her final bed bath. Minutes after the nurses finished and left the room, my honey, the love of my life for 19 years and mother to Jay and Perye, experienced her last breath. Her transition was peaceful.
For all those that sent Birthday Cards and Interacted with my Vickie Facebook posts this past year, THANK YOU! Thank you for caring. Thank you for supporting. Thank you for helping.
Thank you for playing a part and role in our/her Life’s Journey. I, along with her son Jay and daughter Perye had the great privilege and honor of taking care of her at her most vulnerable time.
I’ll write more in the future. For now, I feel this quote below by Hunter Thompson best describes my darling and life partner Vickie Pieper.
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”
― Hunter S. Thompson
I think Vickie truly lived this quote, fully!
Vickie requested not to have a formal service in a church. Enstead, wishes to have a celebration and party.
Details will be forthcoming.
