How did Robby get interested in making movies?

In 1998 I met my girl friend Vickie Pieper and one of the projects she was working on is the screen play about a man named warrior. He was special ops for the US government but his cover was that of a film maker. He was personally involved in over 26 feature films.

Warrior wanted me to write the music for his movie about his life.

That’s what got me started.

What Film School Did Robby attend?

Then I went to film school at both UNLV and CCSN and started taking various classes from screen writing, directing to video shooting.

My First Documentary: “Where Were You on 9/11?”

Last year Robby and Vickie were in a directors class at UNLV and the teacher was lecturing saying that most of you (meaning the students) were probably not even get there first film job for at least 10 years! I walked up to him after class and said, “I don’t have 10 years” and the teacher looked me in the eye and
said, “Robby just start making movies!”

Within 1 month I directed, produced, edited and shot my first documentary called “Where Were You on 9/11″. It aired 10 times on Channel 4 in from September 11-18 2006.

we had a small team of people helping. Vickie Pieper helped produce the film. Doug Shutte helped shoot and Doug Taylor helped on sound. Knathen Kambak was also very instrumental in the final editing for this project.

We interviewed 26 people in 17 locations in 3 days.

The person I know who is part of this organization is Andrea LeBlanc. Her husband Robert G. LeBlanc a professor at University of New Hampshire was in the second plane that hit the WTC. I had an extensive conversation with her about her husband who was a man of peace.

(There is no relation between my family and Robert G LeBlanc’s who died at WTC. We shared the same name.
However, he was one of the inspirations to do the documentary.)

Peaceful Tomorrows is an organization founded by family members of those killed on September 11th who have united to turn our grief into action for peace.

By developing and advocating nonviolent options and actions in the pursuit of
justice, we hope to break the cycles of violence engendered by war and terrorism.

Acknowledging our common experience with all people affected by violence throughout the world, we work to create a safer and more peaceful world for everyone.
