A few weeks ago I was invited to sit in and play with the group
Odyessy in Las Vegas. The song they invited me to play was
“Fragile” written by Sting. It is a haunting and beautiful melody.
Hope you all had Great Holiday and a Happy New Year Celebration!
New Year’s in Las Vegas is always crowded, fun and exciting! Vickie and
I actually stayed home for the first time in years and watched all
the happenings on TV. We had a front row seat and had a blast!
So are you glad we are in the new year?
Personally I had a great year that ended on one of my most
challenging times ever. I had some great music gigs. Vickie
and I worked on a few cool video projects. A few friends
passed away this year. I worked as an internet marketer on
a successful project with Mark Victor Hansen and Bob Allen.
I became a new uncle. I was diagnosed in November
with diabetes. Pretty full year. This is called life.
Good times mixed with challenging times. The secret
is to enjoy it all! (Which I am still learning)
Everyone has been affected by the economy in one
way or another. I know a lot of people that had rough times and
are continuing to claw their way back to some sort of balance.
With record foreclosures and unbelievable high unemployment
rates people are being forced to take inventory of their life, skills
and talents.
Even the rich have been affected. Nobody got a pass on this one!
I have a few sayings on my office wall: “In order for things to change, you must change.
in order for things to get better, you must get better.” Jim Rohn
“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” Helen Keller
“Change your thoughts and you change your world.” Norman Vincent Peale
“A goal is a dream with a deadline.” Napoleon Hill
These saying inspire me everday. They remind me of
things I need to be doing and thinking as often as possible.
I have a number of goals for this year. Over the next few
months I will share some of them with you. However, at
the top of my list is my health.
I know now, more than ever, it’s not only important
but critical that you feed your mind positive and optimisitc
thoughts. Watching the news is a recipe for killings your
dreams and feeding your fears.
I also believe that during these challenging times we all
need to keep pursuing our dreams, what ever they may
be. I am not saying that you need to be doing any of this,
I’m letting you know I will be doing this.
I feel so strongly about it that I am doing a workshop
about it and you’re invited!
We have an awesome music program at the church I attend.
Thw house band is called Odysey with Justin Vogel on Bass,
Melvin Macia on Keyboards and Stephen on drums…
I perform there a few times a year, sometimes just solo guitar
and other times with the band.
Mary O’Reilly heads up the choire and they perform the
third Sunday of every month.
I love this song in the video below that our choire sings.
It features 4 different singers with 4 different voice qualities.
What also makes this special is my wonderful girlfriend
Vickie Pieper is the first soloist featured. She is in the back
row so you can’t see her, but man she can really sing!
All 4 vocalist sing with heart felt soul I think you’ll enjoy. Soloist 1 – Vickie Pieper
Solist 2 – Beth Sabala
Solist 3 – Sherry O’Hara
Solist 4 – Teresa Krolak-Owens This is the first video I shot with my iphone…
Below is the first music video I created while attending
film school at CCSN. I wrote the music and lyrics also.
Vickie came up with the the key lyric, “Pass It On…”
The song is called “Pass It On”…
The horrific events of September 11, 2001 are still deep in my mind.
I was in the shower when Vickie yelled to me “Robby, I think we are being
attached.” I’ll never forget that day.
Vickie and I did a documentary called: “Where Were You on September 11?”
It played in on channel 4 nine times. Anyway, the world is different because of that event. I am different because of that event. You are different
because it this event.
The video below is my way not forgetting and taking a moment
to remember the firemen, police and all who tried to help
but never made it…
Before The World We Saw, The Twin Towers Fall,
In Disbelief We Watched, The Horror of it All,
Now The World, Is Watching What We Do,
I Pray To God, We Do what’s Right To Do,
But if I Find Some Real Wisdom, What I’ll Do is Pass It On,
But if I Find Some Real Wisdom, What I’ll Do is Pass It On…
Your Comments are welcome… Post where you were on September 11, 2001…
