I've been in almost daily contact with my peeps from the show since coming home in October. No doubt this experience has braught us closer together than any of us had ever expected. As a matter of fact, I am closer to some of the women on this show than many other people I have known for 20 or 30 years.  I absoulutely Love and Adore these Brave and Courageous women.

Thank You for supporting me on this journey. And the good news...
It's Just Getting STARTED!!!

Have a Great Day!

OWN:”Addicted To Food” Huffington Post Interview

As the premiere of "Addicted To Food" on the OWN, Oprah Winfrey Network April 5, 2011 at 10 pm comes closer, more interviews have been requested. Below is a link to an interview I did last week with the Huffington Post. They interviewed me, along with one of my cast mates, Dejuaii and Tennie Mcarty, the founder of "Shades of Hope.

CLICK HERE To The Huffington Post Interview.

Last week I was also interviewed by entrepreneur Armand Morin, who is also the author of the soon to released book, "Success Leaves Traces".  and Pamela Miles, the founder of Calorie Confusion.

This entire process has been an incredible learning experience. Starting from going to Shades of Hope in late August of 2010 to the present time, actively working on my recovery, exercising, playing gigs and doing interviews to help promote the "Addicted To Food".

Some of my friends have asked, if I am now embarrassed to share with the world my emotional baggage and the issues I have with food. At the time of the taping at Shades of Hope, I was such a mess emotionally that I didn't care about the taping. I needed help, big time. Then after the taping I did start thinking, "what have I done?"

Fast Forward 6 Months...I've still got a long way, however, I've made significant progress.
Bottom Line, I've got my life back. Is life perfect? No. My focus is on progress, not perfection. Am I embarrassed or worried about what people may think about me ? I'd be lying if I said I never think about it...However, this past week I had some insights and realized, what people think of me is really none of my business. It is what it is...

I'm finally at a place that I can now see that this program, " Addicted To Food" has the potential to help thousands of people. Not only am I no longer embarassed to talk about it, I want to tell everyone I know and see about this program.

I know this "WILL" save some people's lives. I know this can help a lot of people with diabetes. I know that anyone that has issues with over eating, under eating, purging, bulemia or any other food or weight  issues will be able to relate to one of the 8 people in this program.

To find out what channel and what time the show will air in your area go to:
www.Oprah.com/own
For clarification, this is NOT on "The Oprah Winfrey Show, channel. This program will be aired on Oprah's new TV network she launched on January 1, 2011 called  OWN, which stands for, Oprah Winfrey Network.
